OCTOBER
Danielle and Chad we're visiting us in Utah the week before Halloween. They explained to the boys that some parents trade their children's Halloween candy for a toy (I suppose to keep kids of the sugar rush and keep their teeth sparkling). After Jake heard this, he replied matter-of-factly, "I ain't falling for that!!!!!"
We were driving down the streets of Salt Lake City with Danielle, Chad, Jake and Austin. It was a Sunday in Utah so the streets were pretty deserted! Tim looked out the window and saw a homeless man doing push-ups on the sidewalk. He was a little surprised and then Chad make the now famous comment, "Dad, haven't you ever seen a grown man doing push-ups in the middle of the city???" Maybe you had to be there...but we all thought for a second and then bust into gut wrenching laughter. Chad, you are a funny one!!!
SEPTEMBER
Every year, Reno has "The Rib Cookout" with lot's of mouthwatering food. Danielle brought some yummy ribs home for dinner one night right after Tim got released from the hospital. Austin (age 6 at the time) dug in and said, "Hey, there's a bone in my rib"!!! (Obviously, we don't eat much red meat, let alone ribs on a regular basis around here. We're a grilled cheese, PB&J, and chicken nuggets kind of family!!!)
